Players Begin Receiving Absolute Poker Refunds

Check your bank accounts. Many former Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet players reported receiving transfers on Friday for their AP and UB balances that were locked up (and presumed lost) since both sites’ closure in the middle of 2011. While many bank transfers were credited today, players waiting for checks have been told to wait another 2-3 weeks.

Claims administrator, Garden City Group confirmed last month that they will pay $33.5 million in refunds. Players had until September 7th to file a claim for their missing funds.

Tom Dwan Ducks Out of Poker After Dark

After joining Poker After Dark on Wednesday, Tom Dwan decided not to play the event on Thursday.

Dwan also missed the event on Tuesday, leaving some poker fans upset.

“PLOMG” week featured three days of a $300/$600 Pot Limit Omaha, $100,000 buy-in game. Brandon Adams, Josh Arieh, Daniel “Jungleman” Cates, Phil Galfond, Isac Haxon, Tom Dwan and Chance Kornuth were among those featured. Some of those watching — including Josh Arieh — found some of the action to be less than stellar.

In other PokerGo programming news, next they will introduce their latest poker-themed show as the company delves into the world of dating. The six-part series called Chasing Hearts is slated to begin on October 2nd and promises to “combine unpredictable blind dates and poker-themed analysis to present a clever twist on the traditional dating show.”
