Run It Up Reno VII could attract over 1,000 unique players, according to event organizer Jason Somerville.

Run It Up Reno will return to the Peppermill Resort & Casino this October 19th-29th with over $550,000 in guaranteed tournament prize pool money and a chance to claim one of two $30,000 Platinum Passes into the PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship (PSPC) this coming January.

The unique 11-day RIU Reno event promises a fun poker atmosphere for players of all skill levels — blending daily activities with dozens of real money tournaments featuring buy-ins as low as $85.

Hosted by Run It Up Studios administrator, Team PokerStars streamer and WSOP bracelet winner Jason Somerville, Run It Up Reno VII could draw “over a thousand unique entrants,” according to the personality known by many longtime poker fans as JCarver.

Attendees who would like to make advance reservations can obtain nightly room rates as low as $55.99 by visiting the Peppermill Reno website and entering promo code RIURENO.

Jason Somerville Discusses Run It Up Reno VII

Run It Up Reno VII

Jason Somerville – Run It Up Reno

Part Time Poker reached out to Jason earlier this week to get his thoughts on the upcoming event, which will be the seventh installment of a unique festival that would be the envy of any start-up poker tour, and provides a clear entertainment value to players of all skill and bankroll levels.

Jason Somerville on number of attendees for Run It Up Reno VII:

I think our October RIU Reno will be the biggest one ever and I wouldn’t be surprised if we attracted over a thousand unique entrants. It’s going to be massive. We’ve got an action packed schedule with two Platinum Passes up for grabs and a Twitch featured table for the whole series. Many of poker’s best ambassadors will be making the trip too. There’s so many good reasons to come and play!

On coordinating RIU Reno events with the Peppermill Resort & Casino:

Peppermill has been an incredible partner over the years. This will be my ninth event with Peppermill and each one gets better and better. They’ve got an elite poker team and share my vision on what poker should and can be. I hope to be doing many events with them in the future.

Run It Up Reno VII promises a “fun” poker experience:

We’ve always tried to offer a premium poker experience at Run It Up Reno without losing the spirit of fun in the game. We want first time live poker players to make the trip and feel comfortable. We try to run our events as though they’re high rollers – 8-handed play for everything at most, 6-max non-holdem games, modern structures – but without losing the energy and atmosphere of a recreational low-buyin environment. We have built an amazing, unique, welcoming energy at RIU Reno and it’s something I’m very proud of.

Separately, PokerStars will award a PLATINUM PASS to a Twitch Poker streamer later this year.
