All poker is still being played virtually these days, but there’s still plenty of high stakes action. Artur Martirosian leads the Poker Masters, but can he hold off Timothy Adams and Ali Imsirovic who are close behind? Meanwhile what ripple effects will the WSOP’s delay have on the poker community? And Steffen Sontheimer joins ‘I Am High Stakes Poker.’ We have all those stories and more in this – the weekend edition of the Hit and Run.

Poker Masters Online Concludes Tonight

It’s all come down to this. The first ever Poker Masters online will kick off tonight, and it’s currently Russia’s Artur Martirosian leading the way with 957 points and $1,187,724 in cashes. But right behind him are Timothy Adams and Ali Imsirovic, both with over a million themselves.

Ali Imsirovic made up ground by taking down Event #26 the $25k No Limit Hold ‘Em event for a cool $446k. His final table included crushers like Jorryt van Hoof and David Peters. Here are the complete final table results courtesy of PokerCentral.

Ali wins again!

Later that night it would be Mustapha Kanit defeating Matthias Eibinger on his way to winning the $10k 6-max event for a cool $237k. Timothy Adams and David Peters were also at that final table. Here once again are the final table payouts:

Who Kanit Be Now?

Be sure to head over to PokerCentral to follow all the Masters action. And just a reminder “Sunday’s events get underway at 2pm ET with a $50,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament followed by a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament at 4pm ET to close things out. The formula for points scoring is the same for the $50k as it was for the $25k. The payout of this event gets multiplied by 0.0006 while the $10k payouts get multiplied by 0.001. Don’t miss tonight’s live stream as we will crown a Purple Jacket winner live on the PokerGO Facebook page!”

Quick Hitters

-You’ve no doubt heard by now that the WSOP has been postponed and is now being tentatively pushed back until October. Well over on Cardplayerlifestyle.com, Christian Zetzsche writes about what that means for live reporters. What will they do now that summer camp is over?

-Over on PokerCentral, Paul Seaton takes a look back at the history of playing cards. They are the tools of the trade, and Paul writes, “Everyone who loves poker uses them, but plenty of us look past the sheer talent it takes to put them together. No, not online bet sliders or casino hand sanitizers, but playing cards.”

-Former PartTimePoker writer Alex Weldon took to OnlinePokerReport this week to talk about the WSOP. It’s been delayed, and now it’s only a matter of time before the storied series changes venues. So Alex asks, “Is 2020 The Right Time To Reimagine The World Series Of Poker?”

-Over on PocketFives, Lance Bradley has a chat with Kitty Kuo to talk about what she’s doing during the pandemic. The rising poker star had planned to go be with family during this quarantine, but has now said, “I didn’t know the USA would be as bad as it is now. Also, if I go back to Taiwan, I worry I will have issues coming back to the USA.”

-And finally over on PokerNews, Mo Nuwwarah takes a look at the WSOP and what a condensed schedule could mean. The event has been pushed back to October or November, but does the Rio have that much space available? Will there be a shorter schedule? Mo pontificates on these very questions in his article.
