After months and months of hype, the day is finally upon us. The debates have been fierce, the odds are squarely in favor of one of the participants and their fans have been quick to defend their actions.
Of course, we’re talking about the Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk heads-up match. The match will finally get underway tomorrow at 8 PM ET.
The start of the match is set to be particularly exciting as Polk and Negreanu have agreed to play the first 200 hands live in-person from the PokerGo studios, as part of the High Stakes Duel show. After the session, the pair will then move to WSOP.com to complete the rest of their challenge.
Best of all, the challenge will be free to watch on PokerGo during the November 4th live session. To celebrate what will be some must-see live poker, PokerGo has released a new hype video which includes brief interview clips of both Negreanu and Polk, where they discuss the history of the feud.
Negreanu and Polk seemed to have toned down their criticism ofeach other in recent days, which have led some to believe that once the match began maybe things would remain civil, even if the two are never exactly going to be best friends. Well, if the video posted by PokerGo is any indication, emotions and feelings remain very high. In the short clip, Polk called Negreanu “completely delusional” while Negreanu said that Polk is just your average internet troll.
If you are a fan of watching live poker or heads-up action between two accomplished pros, you wont want to miss seeing this live. Poker fans can watch the match via the PokerGo Twitch or YouTube channels.
After the live session, Negreanu and Polk will move their play to WSOP.com, where poker fans can expect a few sessions a week, with no official stream but likely a colaboration, like what is currently going on in the Phil Galfond Challenge match with Chance Kornuth. Given that 25,000 hands will need to be played, it could take months.
