Matt Damon Talks Rounders
Everyone loves Bill Simmons and Matt Damon. Put them in a room together talking about movies, sports, and poker? Forget about it. And last week Bill had Matt on his podcast and the two spent almost half the time talking about Rounders!
If you love Rounders, then the recent @BillSimmons podcast is a MUST LISTEN. Bill and Matt Damon spend 30 minutes discussing the likelihood of a sequel, the abilities of @BenAffleck, and stories about @Erik_Seidel @phil_hellmuth @CMONEYMAKER and @TexDollyhttps://t.co/ikn4sNHFww

The interview covers a lot of Matt’s career, but the middle parts are really heavy on the poker. During the podcast, Damon displays a deep knowledge of the game and makes references to several players like Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke, Erik Seidel, Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, and of course Johnny Chan.

WSOP Europe Starts Out Strong
The opening event of the World Series of Poker Europe is off to a fantastic start with 2,992 players taking their shot at the opening tournament – the Colossus. 292 of them were able to advance to Day 2 which kicks off Sunday in Razvadov.
The plan is to play down until the final table, where first place is over €200,000! Of course, last year’s POY winner Chris Ferguson was in attendance as well as this year’s likely winner Shaun Deeb. Tune into Pokernews.com for all the live reporting action.
-Cardplayer.com has another article this week from an ongoing feature that we really like called “One Time, Dealer.” This week ‘Dealer Chick’ talks about overzealous players who try to control the table and how she responds to such players. It’s a well-thought out article and well-worth the read.
-Meanwhile over at CardPlayerLifestyle.com Robbie’s team is getting the word out about a great cause going down in the deep South. In just a few short days on October 19, Mother to Mother charities will head to Nashville for their Music City Shootout charity poker tournament. Chris Moorman and Greg Raymer are just a couple of the celebrity pros expected to be in attendance. So stop on by if you’re in Tennessee country this weekend.
-PokerNews has a nice write-up on all the recent PokerStars Platinum Pass winners and all the ways you can still win. Check out that article here.
-Poker is spreading like wildfire throughout Texas. And after their recent successful WPT DeepStacks event there, the WPT blog just posted a nice photoblog recapping the event,
-As we reported earlier, MMA fan and PLO specialist Joey Ingram took to YouTube recently to talk about the ridiculous brawl in the McGregor/Habib fight. What none of us could have anticipated was just how much his brawl investigation would blow up. The video is currently at 6 million views and that number is only going to go up and up! Check it out below in case you haven’t seen it yet.
-Of course, with that video exploding in popularity, some in the poker world couldn’t help but needle Papi a little.
