WSOP Europe Main Event Down to Less than 50

The World Series of Poker Main Event entered Day 3 on Tuesday with 135 of the original 529 players remaining to begin the day for the €10,350 buy-in event.

A total of 47 players remain as of Tuesday evening with Michal Mrakes holding the chip lead with 1,350,000 closely followed by Jack Salter with 1,200,000. Notable names still alive include Niall Farrell, Parker Talbot, Maria Ho, David Peters and Anthony Zinno (with the later two short stacked).

With John Racener knocked out of WSOP Europe Main Event, Chris Ferguson clinched the 2017 World Series of Poker Player of the Year title. In achieving the feat, Ferguson joins a prestigious list of players that includes Daniel Negreanu, Allen Cunningham, Greg Merson and Jason Mercier.

Unexpectedly, the poker world has had mixed feelings to Chris Ferguson’s controversial WSOP Player of the Year win.

Meanwhile, the WSOP Europe €25,000 Super High Roller got underway on Tuesday for players who either got knocked out in the Main Event or choose not to participate. Nine players remain as of Tuesday evening.

In other WSOP news, the $1 Million Big One for One Drop will be returning to the 2018 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas on July 15th.
