Brandon Adams wins Event #2 at Poker Masters, final tables two others

On Sunday, Brandon Adams won the $25,000 Poker Masters No Limit Hold’em Event #2 when he bested a field of 50 that included Jared Jaffee heads-up and a final table consisting of Jake Schindler, Bill Klein, Jason Koon and Daniel Negreanu.

For his victory, Adams wins $400,000 and after a final table performance in Event #1, he also leads the Purple Jacket standings.

Adams kept his hot streak alive on Monday in Event #3, the $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha, sitting with the chip lead at the final table as play resumed on Monday. Joining Adams is Ben Yu, Keith Kehr, Jonathan Depa, Dan Shak and Isaac Haxton.

Monday also saw the start of Event #4, the $10,000 Short Deck Poker event, which has so far attracted 20 entrants.

Quick Hitters

– This month marks the first ever WSOP.com online circuit. Running from September 18th to September 30th, the WSOP.com will award 13 Rings and guarantee $700,000 to players in Nevada and New Jersey. Circuit rings were awarded earlier this year but they were for single tournaments, unlike the Circuit series which is giving away over a dozen rings.

PokerStars WCOOP and partypoker Powerfest each enter their second week on Monday.

Over the weekend, Shaun Deeb took home his 5th overall WCOOP title when he won the PLO8 High, winning just over $38k on his son’s birthday. Dad of the year or worst dad?

Chris Moorman, Kristin Bicknell and Patrik Leonard were a couple of the big winners at this weekend’s Powerfest action with Moorman winning $30k in the $215 6-max PKO with a $200,000 guaranteed. Meanwhile, Kristen Bicknell won over $22,000 in the $1,050 $200,000 GTD PKO.

– The PA online lottery is getting a lot of pushback recently from Pennsylvania casinos. Over the last few months, a group of PA casinos have protested some of the game’s similarities to online gambling, and more recently, its availability to “children” (actually 18 years and up versus 21 years and up for online casinos). Bonus Code PA’s Adam Haman defends the PA Online Lottery and says PA casinos claims are without merit.
