Will My Poker Applications Work With Windows 7?

RELATED ARTICLES
Many poker players are no doubt considering an upgrade to Windows 7. The low price and ease of upgrade are making it tough for online poker players to resist moving away from Vista, and the review for Windows 7 – largely positive – are another factor. However, most poker players have one critical question they need answered: will my poker applications run correctly with Windows 7?
POKER ROOMS
All major poker rooms report no issues with Windows 7 compatibility. Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars both ran fine on beta versions of W7, and the official release has brought with it no serious complaints or major bugs when running Stars or FTP on Windows 7. Same with Carbon Poker (Merge Network) and Ultimate Bet / Cereus, along with Bodog, Poker4Ever, Everest Poker and any room on the Cake Poker Network. It looks like players won’t have any problems upgrading to Windows 7 in terms of still being able to play online at their favorite room.
HAND HISTORY DATABASE
The two major poker database programs – Holdem Manager and PokerTracker – both appear to be compatible with Windows 7, although some users may need to reinstall the programs after updating. That’s a pain, but probably nothing that should dissuade you from upgrading if you’re interested. In short: PokerTracker and HEM should both run without incident or issue under Windows 7.
ADD ONS
There are more add ons for poker than you can shake a stick at, so a complete list isn’t possible, but it appears that there are no issues running the following programs under Windows 7: SpadeEye, Full Tilt Shortcuts, AHK, TeamViewer, Table Ninja, PokerStove and Universal Hand Replayer.
