What is the FTOPS?

Jacob Perez : September 29th, 2009

The FTOPS is an acronym that stands for Full Tilt Online Poker Series. FTOPS is a tournament series that Full Tilt runs every quarter. More info about the series below.

In addition to the FTOPS, Full Tilt now runs Mini-FTOPS, a parallel tournament series with smaller buy ins.

The FTOPS series have been very popular with players for a variety of reasons. First, the schedule offers a wide range of poker variants as well as buy ins. You can choose from holdem, HORSE, omaha, and a handful of other games in the typical FTOPS schedule.

Second, FTP generally offers massive guaranteed prize pools for FTOPS events, and runs satellites around the clock, meaning that the fields for the tournaments are larger, and generally weaker, than the typical online tournament.

Finally, there’s a bit of prestige that comes with having won a FTOPS tournament, and FTP marks that by providing you with a special avatar that only FTOPS winners have access to.

PokerStars runs a similar tournament series, called the WCOOP.
