What are Cashout Tournaments on Full Tilt Poker?

RELATED ARTICLES
Cashout tournaments are a new tournament format offered by Full Tilt Poker that upend the traditional tournament model by actually allowing you to cash out some of your chips during the tournament.
Here’s how it works: in specially marked ‘cashout tournaments’, the prizepool is split into two separate pools (similar to the way the prizepool is split in a knockout tournament). So, in a tournament that costs $20 to enter, $10 goes to the ‘main’ prize pool and $10 goes to the ‘cashout’ prize pool.
The value of your chips is based on the relation of the starting stack to the initial contribution to the ‘cashout’ prize pool. So, if you start with 2500 chips and $10 of your entry goes into the ‘cashout pool, then 2500 chips are worth $10.
Players can choose to cash out all of their stack or to cash out in 10% increments of the original stack size. Using the numbers above, a player with 10,000 chips would choose to:
- Cash out all of their stack for $40
- Cash out 2500 chips for $10
- Cash out 250 chips for $1
… and so on.
Cashout is only available in specially marked tournaments, as show below:

The total cashout pool is displayed in the tournament lobby:

To cashout, just click the ‘cashout’ button in the upper left during a tournament.
