Sometimes, one good session is all you need to have a good week. It worked for Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond, who led all players at Full Tilt’s high-stakes tables this week.
Galfond posted over $1.5 million in profits for the week, just $32,000 ahead of Tom “durrrr” Dwan. Galfond did it in just 7,000 hands, and earned all of his profit in one lengthy session against mystery Swedish player Isildur1.
Dwan also had good luck against Isildur1, who famously beat Dwan for millions at the end of last year. But this week Dwan posted a session where he was up a million against Isildur1.
You’d think all of that would mean an abysmal week for Islildur1. But all of the money Isildur1 dropped to those two players didn’t hurt his bottom line for the week. He was the third most profitable player on Full Tilt, with more than $650K in profit. He also logged an amazing 30,000+ hands in the week. For reference, only Dwan (11,137) and Brian Townsend (10,499) logged more than 10K for the week.
Townsend was also up about $650K for the week.
Two players lost more than a million for the month: Cole South dropped about $1.2 million, while Patrik Antonius was down $1.1 million. Gus Hansen was down $800K.
Hansen and South had been off to a good start to 2010, and both had topped the profit list for periods this year. But the new king of the mountain is Dwan, once again, who is up more than $3M for the year. Alexander “postflopaction” Kostritsyn continues to grind out a solid year with $2.8 million in profits.
Antonius’ brutal start to 2010 continues: He leads all players on Full Tilt with $3.5 million in losses.
