Variance is a part of Tom “durrrr” Dwan’s life. He was on the good end of it this week, as he logged more than a million dollars of profit.
Dwan, playing about 12,000 hands in under 200 sessions at Full Tilt Poker, was up $1.08 million for the week. Most of that profit was won in about a 24-hour period in the middle of the week.
Dwan and Isildur1 were back at it at the tables this week, with little fanfare and fireworks. Dwan actually lost about $120K in heads-up no-limit hold’em to the still-unknown Swedish player, who famously took millions off of Dwan in 2009. By the time the week was over, Isildur1 was down $350K.
Half of Dwan’s profit came in sessions against Brian Townsend, who was the leader in losses for the week at more than $780K. Gus Hansen, who had been off to a good start to 2010 after a dismal 2009, was the second-biggest loser for the week, down about $595K.
“Nekotyan” has the second-best week of all players, posting a net gain of $550K in just over 3,000 hands. Quietly, Nekotyan has logged profits of more than a million so far in 2010.
Patrik Antonius also had a good week, with almost $450K in profit in just under 4,000 hands. Dwan and Antonius did not log any hands for the “durrrr Challenge” which Dwan leads by $1.4 million with about 18,000 hands left to play.
Only three players logged more than 10,000 hands for the week — Dwan, Isildur1 and PixKim.
