Weekly High Stakes Report: Antonius Profits

Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan are taking turns on top of the weekly leaderboards at Full Tilt Poker’s high-stakes tables.

Last week, Dwan was on top. Two weeks ago, Antonius. Three weeks ago? Dwan.

For now, Antonius holds the top spot for another week, logging profits of about $560K. Dwan, meanwhile, lost the most of any player at Full Tilt last week, netting a loss of just over a million dollars.

All of this came during a flurry of activity for the “durrrr Challenge.” Despite thousands of hands being played, Dwan still held on to a huge lead in the 50,000-hand challenge between Dwan and Antonius, in which Dwan bet that he would come out the winner over that number of hands. Dwan has held a huge lead for some time now, and recent estimates have his lead at about $1.5 million over Antonius.

Dwan continues to crush the competition for the year. He is up $5.3 million for the year, which is more than twice the amount of profit any other player has for 2010. Di “Urindanger” Dang is up $1.8 million, and Alexander “PostflopAction” Kostritsyn is second at about $1.7 million. Despite a down month, NEKOTYAN is still up about $1.4 million for the year.

No one else had more than half a million in profit for the month, although a couple of uncommon names followed Antonius in the rankings. “Tibster24″ was second with $415K in profit, while “Observer84″ was next with $366K. Phil Ivey was fourth for the week at $366K.

After a flurry of action in February and March of this year, mysterious Swedish player Isildur1 has not been seen at the tables of late. His alleged alter-ego, Viktor Blom, has been busy playing live events in the European Poker Tour, so his schedule may be keeping him away from the virtual felt.

Dwan was the only player to log more than $500K in losses for the month. Next on the list was Brian Townsend, losing $450K for the week. His horrid 2010 continued — at $2.7 million in losses, he nearly doubles the losses of the next player on the list for the year.

Newcomer to the high-stakes world “micahJ” had a bit of a setback after recently crushing his way to the nosebleed games — he gave back $410K over the course of the week for the second-worst 7-day period.
