The first season of poker-themed reality show Two Months Two Million wrapped up with Episode Ten last night. If you haven’t been following, you can read our 2M2MM Season 1 Recap here; we also have an interview with cast member Jay Rosenkrantz that you can read here.
So how did it all end up? The team fell far short of their goal for the summer, but still turned in a pretty impressive overall profit of 657k+. The full numbers for the week and the season:
Dani Stern – +$101,000 / +$100,800
Brian Roberts -$75,000 / +$7,500
Jay Rosenkrantz $0 / +$406,500
Email Patel +$34,800 / +$161,900
Team: +$60,800 / +$676,600
The final episode was basically broken up into coverage of the last few sessions the guys played and planning for their farewell party. On the poker side of things, Krantz was essentially absent for this episode – not that you can blame him, as he’d already locked up a massive win for the summer. Roberts pushed the action and sat down to play big against LarsLuzak on Full Tilt Poker – not the most +EV of matches. Brian ran poorly and ended up dropping about $75k.
Emil got in a solid week despite having game play interrupted mid hand three times during 5k+ pots – once by a blackout, once by a computer freeze and then again by a second blackout. Stern had the biggest win of the group and essentially saved his summer from break-even status by murdering cadx2 on his way to a $100k+ win.
Away from the tables, Jay and Brian auditioned a variety of entertainers for their farewell party – a snakecharmer, a juggling Uncle Sam on stilts and a balloon artist who fashioned a massive strap-on for Roberts , which he proceeded to whip against the face of a seated Rosenkrantz. Also lined up for the party: Chef, in the role of singer – a position he’d held professionally in a former life (the outdated PR shots from his previous career provided one of the better comedic moments of the show).
Dani makes good on his promise earlier in the season to buy a pair of 2k Nikes if he had a $40k+ day. While he’s buying the shoes, he mentions this to the clerk, who responds “40 in a day – that’s a year” and comments “you’ve got a stack on each foot” when Dani tests out the shoes. The party itself goes off well, with a few extra girls added to the mix by the 2M2MM concierge, and Emil gets attention from the cameras by giving attention to the girls attending, providing a tour of the house to, in Robert’s words “every female that showed up.”
It all wraps up with the guys reflecting on their summer on a somewhat grey Vegas day by the house pool. The last words of the episode, fairly appropriate one for anyone who watched Season 1 of 2M2MM: “Hey brian – shut the fuck up.”
