Dustin Gouker : April 7th, 2015

Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott dies of cancer. And Daniel Negreanu has a lot to say about luck. It’s all in our daily wrap-up of the world of poker, the Hit and Run.

Devilfish passes

Poker lost one of its greatest personalities, as Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott lost a battle with cancer. It was just last week that we learned that the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour champion was ill, and the end came rather quickly. More details here.

Kid Poker on luck

Interesting read from Daniel Negreanu, on the subject of luck. For much of his blog post, he talks about the role of luck in golf. Then he transitions to luck in general, and luck in poker. His takeaway? Don’t get caught up in results, and whether you are lucky or unlucky. Accept the results, and move on.

Slowroll + bad beat = awesome video

A crazy hand played out at the Irish Open, in which an apparent slowroll turns into a bad beat for the slowroller. More here, or just watch the video below.

If you care who won, Greece’s Ioannis Triantafyllakis took the title.
