Russian Rinat Bogdanov came out on top of the World Poker Tour Venice main event this weekend, prevailing against a final table full of Italians.
Bogdanov started out as a short stack as the final table neared, but by the time the six-handed “television” final table arrived, he was near the top of the chip counts.
Andrea Dato, who was at his second straight final table at this event, finished in third place.

Finally, the blinds started to catch up with the players and it was arguably the best player of the tournament who was eliminated in 3rd place. Dato moved all-in with K 4 and Bogdanov woke up with A K sending Dato to the rail.
The Royal Flush Girls splayed the felt with cash and our heads up encounter began, but it finished not long after. The final action lasted two hands when Bogdanov hit a boat holding 64 on a Q 7 4 6 4 board with Alessandro Longobardi holding K Q for top pair.
