Televised poker has come a long way since the now-primitive looking recordings of the old WSOPs. The development of the World Poker Tour broadcasts represented one step forward, and now the proliferation of video on the internet is taking things in even more interesting directions. Internet video tends to offer shorter-form content with more unique topics (and lower production values). A newer site offers you access to a good mix of the old and the new – PokerTube.com.

Overview
PokerTube
takes the YouTube model – user submitted video – and shrinks the focus down to poker. The layout and interface will be very familiar to anyone who’s used a video posting site before.

Look
A little simple, but that works – it puts the focus where it should be: on the content. The layout is fairly uncluttered and the navigation is clean and intuitive. There are multiple ways to sort videos, and the majority of the site’s content is easy to access. There are a couple of ads, but they’re mostly out of the way.

Content
Good stuff, for the most part. It’s largely what you’d expect – cut up versions of popular poker shows, screen captures of people playing, interviews submitted by sites like Gutshot and PokerNews, chip tricks and a couple of documentary-style videos.

Unique pros / cons
The easy access to the content is a plus, and the depth of content also works to the site’s advantage.

Bottom line
Nothing you couldn’t get at other sites, but it’s nice that everything’s in one place and easy to access with a minimum of ads surrounding it.
