A look ahead at this year’s big online poker series, and more chances for players to help out in Haiti. It’s today’s PTPN Hit and Run.

If you like playing in the big online poker series, here’s a story for you. The story talks about the state of the series on many of the major American-facing poker sites, a bit about what happened in 2009 and a look ahead to what’s in store in 2010 on PokerStars, Full Tilt, Ultimate Bet and more.

We’ve been reporting on opportunities for poker players to help out in the wake of an earthquake that claimed hundreds of thousands of lives in Haiti. Here’s an interesting story from pokerati, where a former poker blogger is helping out the relief effort. Here’s the blog for the charity, called Medishare. PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker have been offering ways to donate money, and a few more sites are in on the action now too. Check out opportunities at Cake Poker and Doyle’s Room. Doyle’s Room is running a special celebrity bounty tourney to help relief efforts.

We also recently reported on a bad beat jackpot at Caesars Atlantic City that was nearing half a million dollars. Finally, after more than half a year, someone finally hit the jackpot. Read about it here. Steven Gedney, 52, lost with four 3s against four aces, and won more than a quarter of a million dollars.

A little bit of news out of Kentucky, where the government there has been trying to seize internet domains related to internet poker and gambling. Story here. The new news is that a decision in the case could come on January 21st, after oral arguments were heard in October. New filings in the case may mean the decision gets pushed back, however.

Interesting story on the top poker hands of the decade over at ESPN.com. One of them was this memorable bluff by Chris Moneymaker in 2003 during heads-up play at the World Series of Poker main event.

The Aussie Millions is under way Down Under. And more importantly here’s a video of Lynn Gilmartin with the jewelry the event winners will take home:

Poker chip sales, like a lot of things, suffered during the recent recession. But chip manufacturers are optimistic about 2010, according to this story at pokernewsdaily.com.
