Tournament results, WSOP updates, high stakes happenings and more – it’s the PTP News Hit and Run for October 27th, 2009.
Two tournament events in the US crowned main event winners this week. Tommy Vedes cashed in a little WSOP karma by taking down the WPT Festa al Lago for about 1.2 million (full results from Wicked Chops here). Meanwhile, in the Midwest, the $5,200 buy in ME of the Horseshoe Hammond WSOP-C event went to Dan Livingston, who turned a freerolled entry in a win worth just shy of 300k (full results from WSOP.com here).
Dispatches from the world of high-stakes cash poker: David Benyamine took a serious beating at the hands of Ilari Sahamies, dropping about 400k in an extended battle covering a number of games (more from HSN here). Daniel Negreanu’s got a post about the game in Bobby’s Room that he’s been playing more as of late, along with some thoughts on what separates him from Phil Ivey.
