Sexton is inducted, behind the scenes at the WSOP, and Hellmuth fails to eat meatballs. Step up to the buffet that is Sunday’s PTPN Hit and Run.

Mike Sexton was formally inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame on Saturday, during the dinner break of the final table of the World Series of Poker main event. The World Poker Tour commentator was on stage with several other legends, including Doyle Brunson, Jack Binion, Tom McEvoy, and T.J. Cloutier.

Speaking of the WSOP, we won’t go into the details of who has reached heads up play (it’s pretty easy to find out if you want to know in advance of Tuesday’s ESPN broadcast). But here is a video from the opening of the final table.

Phil Hellmuth keeps making news with the events he’s not at at the WSOP. First, he left the table at a filming of “Poker After Dark.” On Saturday, he was a no-show for a side event, the Martorano’s Masters Meatball Eating Championship. Joey Chestnut, Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest champion, won the contest, eating six pounds. Yum.

The WSOP isn’t the only big live event going on right now. The WPT World Poker finals are down to the final three tables, with notables Lee Markholt and Michael Mizrachi still in the mix. Story here.

PokerStars continued its targeted marketing to the young British male audience that enjoys rugby, with an event at the Cook Cup. PokerStars recently partnered with the England Rugby Football Union.

Two more FTOPS events are in the books at Full Tilt Poker, and two more guarantees met. That’s six for seven on hitting guarantees in the latest edition of the tournament series, with only the first event having an overlay.

If you want to play in FTOPS, and don’t have a Full Tilt account, make sure you sign up with rakeback when you create an account.
