Ivey can resist side action. And Hellmuth tilts while playing poker? While you’re waiting for the main event of the WSOP to get down to two players, check out the PTPN Hit and Run.
Just because Phil Ivey made the final table of the World Series of Poker main event doesn’t mean he’s done with his famous side bets. He apparently was looking to bet more money on himself, and told Eli Elezra that he would “win an additional $5 or $6 million.” The link breaks down many of the documented side bets Ivey made on the WSOP. The main event is already started, but you can get a look behind the scenes with the WSOP commisioner here.
We had been following Daniel Negreanu’s recent high-stakes golf match with Patrik Antonius (Negreanu won). If you want to read about the match in long form, you can check out his blog here. He also talks about sweating Ivey and his WSOP predictions.
In not shocking news, Phill Hellmuth got upset while playing poker. Former November Niner Dennis Phillips said on Twitter that he was a last-minute replacement for Hellmuth on “Poker After Dark.” Thanks to the guys over at pokerkingblog.com for this one, more on it here. Chris Ferguson, Antonio Esfandiari, Brandon Adams, Todd Brunson and Mike Matusow were sitting with Hellmuth at the time.
Earlier we reported that the first event of FTOPS XIV at Full Tilt Poker fell short of its guarantee and had an overlay. No such problems in the next four events, though, as all four met their guaranteed payouts.
At Full Tilt’s high-stakes tables, “isildur1″ continues to push the action, even though no one knows who he is. He (or she) was seen multitabling heads-up matches at FTP. And Tom “durrrr” Dwan has had a rough start to November, according to the report.
