$25K HU PLO is coming. There’s another opponent of the UIGEA in Congress. And fallout from the WSOP Commish leaving. It’s all in today’s PTPN Hit and Run.

For those that love watching high-stakes tourneys and the best players in the world, Full Tilt is bringing back the $25K Heads-up Pot-limit Omaha Championship. Preview here. It maxes out at 64 players, and there will be byes if it doesn’t fill. Andy Bloch, Erik Seidel, Gus Hansen and Patrik Antonius are already registered, with more pros sure to come. We’ll keep you up to date.

The ranks of those in the U.S. Congress who want to do away with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act recently gained another follower, a congressman from Colorado. More importantly, Rep. Jared Polis penned an article in Roll Call, a newspaper on Capitol Hill, saying online gambling and poker should be allowed in the U.S. From the article: “Regardless of what one thinks of the proper public policy approach to gaming in general, it’s time to acknowledge that this incidence of ill-conceived prohibition has failed, is failing and will continue to fail because it completely ignores the reality of the Internet.”

Here’s a good story on the fallout from Jeffrey Pollack stepping down as the World Series of Poker commissioner. Seems like most people think it’s a loss for the WSOP and poker, while others aren’t sad to see him go. One major criticism was the fact that rebuy tournaments disappeared under his watch.

Apparently, there’s an announcement from Full Tilt Poker coming later today. It could range from not exciting to exciting. 2+2 thread here. We’ll let you know here if it’s actually exciting.

We’re guessing the announcement isn’t that everyone is getting rakeback. But if you haven’t signed up yet, you can get rakeback for your new FTP account.
