Behind the scenes at “High Stakes Poker.” Who’s on top in live tournament earnings? And more Joan Rivers-Doyle Brunson smack talk. It’s all in today’s PTPN Hit and Run.

“High Stakes Poker” has started filming its new season. Check out a behind-the-scenes video from CardPlayer below. There’s an interview with new co-host Kara Scott and some GSN muckety-mucks.

Pokerkingblog.com did some figuring, and apparently Daniel Negreanu still tops the all-time live tournament earnings list, despite Phil Ivey’s appearance at the final table of the World Series of Poker main event. Story here. Negreanu, Ivey and Jamie Gold are all over $12 million in career earnings, with Negreanu about $200K ahead of Ivey.

Speaking of the ME, some more follow-up stuff from the main event. In Detroit, the mainstream press has been weighing the impact of Joe Cada’s victory. You can read about it over at Poker News Daily. Some think the 21-year-old’s win will inspire more kids to think they can get rich quick through poker and gambling, while some are downplaying any larger impact he might have. A story over at CardPlayer says Cada might be one of the more visible ME winners in recent memory, and he may embrace an opportunity to be an ambassador for the game of poker. And here is a recap of some of the big moments from this year’s ME from pokernews.com.

The Palms has gotten in trouble for some poker tournaments at the resort. The casino was fined $100K for tournaments in 2007 that were run by third parties. The tournaments were not registered with state regulatory authorities, and apparently prize money was not paid upon completion. One of the tournaments was the United States Poker League’s Poker Bowl, which featured pros like Doyle Brunson and Scotty Nguyen. The winning team was not paid for the victory.

Doyle Brunson’s new book, “The Godfather of Poker: The Doyle Brunson Story,” is now available on bookshelves and online. Here’s an interview with the legend from rawvegas.tv where he talks about the book, and some stories not in the book.

Yesterday we reported on Joan Rivers saying she didn’t know who Brunson was on a sports talk radio show after she was informed by some of his comments about her. (He had some choice words for her after some her rants about poker during “The Celebrity Apprentice,” and her well-publicized feud with Annie Duke on the show.). You can listen to her interview here. Brunson appeared later in the show, take a listen here. Thanks to pokerati for those mp3s. Doyle’s best quote from the interview: “Joan Rivers don’t need us and we don’t need her, so good luck to her,” he said.

For those following the “durrrr” vs. “isildur1″ high-stakes matches at Full Tilt, here’s a good recap/update. Tom “durrrr” Dwan is down to the Swedish player about $2.9 million over the space of a few days. Dwan is currently filming for High Stakes Poker, but apparently the two are planning to meet again online soon. More updates as we have them.

If you’re looking to catch up with what’s happened so far in Full Tilt Poker’s FTOPS XIV, here’s a recap of all the events played so far. FTP pros have won one event and claimed second place in two.

It’s not too late to play this edition of FTOPS. If you don’t already have a Full Tilt account, you can sign up here and get rakeback.
