HSP starts taping, WSOP aftermath, and APT hilarity. Have some alphabet soup with us in today’s PTPN Hit and Run.

(Warning, there is some WSOP final table news below, so if you STILL haven’t watched the ESPN broadcast, don’t read on.)

“High Stakes Poker” is taping its sixth season, starting today. Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Antonio Esfandiari, Dario Minieri, Gus Hansen, Phil Hellmuth, Andreas Hoivold are all scheduled to be at the session for the minimum $200,000 buy-in cash game.

Most interesting about the show is Dwan has been logging huge amounts of time playing “isildur1″ in the high-stakes games at Full Tilt Poker, and racking up huge losses, leading up to it. We haven’t seen any official reports detailing action in the last day, but some “unofficial” reports put Dwan down $3 million to the as-of-yet unknown Swedish player. HSP airs in February.

Some material out of the World Series of Poker main event final table…here’s an interview with winner Joe Cada at the ESPNZone in Vegas during the television viewing party last night:

And here’s a neat little rundown of some of the national media covering the ME, and Cada. Also of note: Cada wore a Poker Players Alliance match for his final table appearance, in some nice exposure for the U.S. interest group that lobbies on behalf of poker-playing Americans. “We’re very excited that he wore our logo” PPA Executive Director John Pappas told Poker News Daily. Not only did he wear it, but he’s also expressed an interest in supporting the PPA and our mission. He’d bee an ideal spokesperson to reach out to the younger demographic, the young internet player who may be skeptical as to what the PPA is and what we’re trying to accomplish.” Whole story here.

From the losing side, here’s some pics from Darvin Moon’s afterparty. We love the guy in the Kix shirt.

There’s been a winner crowned at the World Poker Tour World Poker Finals — Cornel Cimpan took down his second WPT title. He won just over $900K for his trouble.

An interesting little tidbit from the Asian Poker Tour stop in Cebu…for just $2 a minute, players could head to a “bad beat lounge” and tell their bad beat stories to a couple of beautiful women. We guess it’s better than telling the story to ugly people for free. PokerStars blog post here, complete with pics of bad-beat girls.

More hot women in poker news: Absolute Poker signed Trishelle Cannatella, most famous as a former Real World cast member. She’s going to be a “celebrity endorser.” We don’t know what that is, but we guess it will involve wearing not much clothing, like she is in this story about the signing, and promoting AP.

Joan Rivers can’t stay away from poker and controversy. Long after her well-documented feud with Annie Duke on “The Celebrity Apprentice,” she did a sports talk radio show and said she didn’t know who Doyle Brunson is. Until she said some details about him later that made it clear that she did. More Rivers craziness over at pokerati.

Full Tilt Poker pros had a nice night in FTOPS XIV — one made it to heads-up play, and another won an event. David Pham took down a $300 HORSE event, while Steve Zolotow was second in a $322 6-handed deep stack tourney.

It’s not too late to play in this FTOPS. If you want to play, you should sign up with rakeback first.
