Behind the scenes at the WSOP, and “durrrr” = newsmaker. We try really hard not to spoil the WSOP main event final table winner for you in today’s PTPN Hit and Run.
We won’t go into the details of the WSOP final table here (but if you want to, check out www.parttimepoker.com/wsop. Below is an interview with the WSOP commish about the main event, including some talk about how and why the final table took so long to play down to two players (DO NOT WATCH THIS IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW THE RESULTS).
And here’s ESPN Inside Deal’s look at the final table, if you want to check out some analysis before the ESPN broadcast tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern. (Obviously, more spoilers here)
More on Tom “durrrr” Dwan, who’s been in the news a lot lately. He continued is battle with unknown Swedish player “Isildur1″ last night, and came out down about $600K. Read about it here. Added to the night before, Dwan is now down about $2 million to “isildur1″ over the last couple of days.
Here’s some video from a press conference before heads-up play at the WSOP, after Dwan signed with Full Tilt Poker as a pro. Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Patrik Antonius were on hand to introduce him.
And Dwan is also slated to take part in a live version of his “durrrr Challenge” against Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies. The two will play at least 500 hands of pot-limit Omaha, until one of the two players loses the minimum buy-in of $500K. The two commonly play for high stakes at FTP. The match is set for Nov. 17-18 in London.
Even more poker on TV: There’s a new show slated for Fox Sports Net called “Poker 2Nite.” Joe Sebok and Scott Huff will be the hosts of the weekly show, which is supposed to air for the first time on Nov. 18 at 11 p.m. Check out the post over at PokerRoad.
Before you take on durrrr at the tables, make sure to get rakeback at Full Tilt Poker.
