A Canadian-only poker magazine? We guess there’s a market for everything. “Poker Pro Canada” is getting ready to launch as an offshoot of “Poker Pro Magazine.” There’s only so much you can write about Daniel Negreanu, really. We kid, Canada, because we love. There’s actually a growing number of recognizable pros from America’s neighbor to the north.
If you use third-party software to play poker, you’re probably excited for this news: Holdem Manager and Table Ninja have joined forces. Read about it at Holdem Manager’s Web site here. You now get a 30-day free trial of Table Ninja, which makes it easier to play multiple tables online, when you purchase Holdem Manager, a tracking program.
The action at Full Tilt’s high-stakes tables may be a little less exciting without Isildur1, but there’s been a lot of trash talking of late in chat. The latest: Ilari “ziigmund” Sahamies goes after Cole South. Story here. Our favorite passage: “Ziigmund: i really hoped that someone would shooted a newyears rocket to his eyes so he couldnt play without helper and couldnt see how f lucky he is.” We lol’d.
Video from the rail at the Aussie Millions asked railbirds whether they’d rather be Tom “durrrr” Dwan or Phil Ivey, who were sitting together at a featured table. C’mon…everyone wants to be Phil Ivey. Anyone who answers “Dwan” is lying.
Interesting take over at pokerkingblog.com, which talks about the resurgence of Party Poker. The site is back to No. 3 in the world, and it looks like it could continue to grow, even though it’s still out of the U.S. market.
Pokernewsdaily.com got a whole story out of the fact that there are no poker players in the upcoming season of the Amazing Race. Actually, they just look at the season of the reality TV show, which featured poker playing women Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho in its last installment.
A few days ago we reported on Doyle Brunson’s tweets regarding Barack Obama; now here’s a story looking at the issue, including some of the responses Brunson has generated at Twitter.
If you play on the Web site Poker Fantasy, your games are moving. It’s becoming a part of the Merge network. Story here. The article also has a recap of who has moved where in recent months.
