It was a big weekend for online poker, and an especially big weekend for PTP members. In one of the biggest single scores in the history of the site, tarheelkid took down the Full Tilt 750k guaranteed, winning over $132,000. Right behind him was fellow PTP member eppy, who took third place in the same tournament for over 50k.

Both players were backed by other PTP members through our exclusive online poker staking system. That means both players returned tens of thousands of dollars to investors in the wake of their wins.

Here’s a description of the closing action from PokerNews.com:

On the button, Eppy1 raised to 240,000 and Papagaio called from the big blind. The (K-Spades)(8-Clubs)(7-Diamonds) flop saw Papagaio check-call a bet of 225,000. The (5-Clubs) turn again saw Papagaio check, and Eppy1 pushed all in for 607,899. A quick call from Papagaio revealed (7-Spades)(7-Clubs) for bottom set , besting Eppy1’s (K-Hearts)(Q-Hearts) for top pair. The (A-Hearts) river was merely a formality as Eppy1 finished in third place for $52,500.

Heads-up play began with these chip counts:

tarheelkid: 7,569,793
Papagaio: 3,245,207

The battle came to an end with the blinds at 50,000/100,000 and a 10,000 ante. Tarheelkid extended the lead and soon put an end to the tournament. Papagaio attempted to limp from the button, but tarheelkid moved all in. Papagaio called all in for 1,505,414 with (A-Hearts)(Q-Hearts) and was favored over tarheelkid’s (K-Spades)(7-Hearts). The flop and turn came (2-Diamonds)(J-Diamonds)(8-Clubs)(4-Hearts), but the river delivered the (K-Diamonds) and ended the match. Papagaio finished an impressive runner-up for $80,250 after beginning the final table as the short stack. The winner of the Full Tilt $750K Guarantee and $132,787.50 was tarheelkid.

PTP Staking has a long history of large wins by backed players for their stakers, both online and live. The list includes multiple wins in the $100 rebuy on Stars, wins in the major nightly tournaments on both Stars and Full Tilt, multiple final tables in the 1k weekly tournaments on Stars and Full Tilt, and three final tables at last year’s WSOP for nearly half a million dollars in cashes.
