Poker players and California casinos are still at odds. And a durrrr vs. jungleman12 update. It’s all in the weekend edition of the PTP Hit and Run.

Durrrr being challenged: We already like the second take of the durrrr Challenge better than the first. It takes months for Tom Dwan and Patrick Antonius to play 5,000 hands, but it took less than a week for Dwan and jungleman12 to finish 10% of the 50K hand prop bet. Right now, jungleman12 is up more than half a million dollars. But there’s a long way to go in version 2.0 of the challenge. Read more here.

Poker players vs. California: This little spat between the California casinos and big-time poker players is becoming kind of serious. Cliff notes? Commerce Casino opposes the legislation that would legalize online poker and gambling in the U.S. Poker players/Poker Players Alliance sent an open letter, telling Commerce to knock it off. Commerce says, “no u.” Now, other Cali casinos are apparently in lockstep, according to this open letter they issued, where the Bicycle Casino and others support Commerce. An excerpt: “In addition, we oppose the Frank bill because it would authorize all types of gaming. We strongly support poker-only legislation.California lawmakers should be the first to bring an illegal enterprise under legal supervision, provide needed consumer protections and capture revenue that can benefit our state first. California must act before the end of the year to protect its own economy to keep market predators out and California dollars in. We believe poker players, informed with the facts, will support our stand.” There’s already been rumors of a possible boycott of the California poker rooms, we’ll see if that’s the next step, or if the situation ramps down.

Yikes, Cereus Network: Well, the Cereus Network was sold late this week, and the new owners said they were getting a great front-end system that was very secure. Tell that to people competing in one of the UB Online Championship events, in which players could apparently limp in for 15 chips when the blinds were 25-50. Eek. 2+2 thread on the subject here, along with an lol picture of the action on the virtual felt.

The big five: If you like to only watch the hands with the biggest pots and biggest beats from PokerStars “The Big Game,” you’re in luck. PokerStars.tv put together the top fives hands from this week in one easy to watch video. Enjoy:

Moar videos?: And another top five…here are the top videos related to poker that we could dig up this week, in the latest edition of Rewind. Check out ElkY on ESPN’s Inside Deal, and a lot more.

Short circuiting on the WSOP: The first “main event” from this season of the World Series of Poker Circuit will take place this week. Card Player did an interview with WSOP VP Ty Stewart on the circuit this year before that tournament wraps up. Read it here.
