Phil Ivey makes a million-plus in a week, a silly poker-player prop bet, and the latest on Sorel Mizzi drama. It’s all in today’s PTP Hit and Run.

Ivey pwnz: Phil Ivey had a huge week at Full Tilt’s high-stakes cash-game tables — he was up about $1.4 million, and he overtook Tom Dwan for the 2010 profit lead. More here. Gus Hansen also had an awful week, and is now down $9 million during his Full Tilt career.

Oh Danny boy: Daniel Negreanu is the centerpiece of PokerStars’ The Big Game on TV. What are some his favorite moments/pots/hands from the show? You can find out in a video below:

Poker pros and corn shucking: Is there anything poker pros won’t bet on, honestly? Story+video (sorry, pokernewsdaily.com is annoying and doesn’t have an embed option) here about a prop bet between Blair Hinkle, Dwyte Pilgrim and Doug “Rico” Carli at the WSOP Circuit stop in Iowa. That’s one messy poker table.

Poker, team-style: We’re still not sure if we care about World Team Poker or not. Latest news is that there are some new countries added to the mix to the event, which is being held next month, but doesn’t have a time or a place set, other than Vegas, sometime. The U.S. team consists of Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow, Allen Cunningham, Annie Duke, Jennifer Harman, Chris Ferguson, Howard Lederer and Erik Seidel. Not too shabby. Interesting team captains? Hasan Habib and Faraz “The-Toilet” Jaka (Pakistan), Jean-Robert Bellande (Caribbean Islands), Antonio Esfandiari (Iran), Carlos Mortensen (Spain) and Vladimir Shchemelev (Ukraine).

ESPN on Sorel Mizzi: ESPN.com’s poker pieces are usually fluffy, featury or newsy, and usually focus on live tournament poker/WSOP. After all that’s ESPN’s bread and butter when it comes to poker. So it was interesting to come across this piece by Gary Wise over at the worldwide sports’ leader’s site, when he tackles the issue of Sorel Mizzi’s sorted past with online poker. We’re not going to go through all of the backstory here, although many know of the story of how Mizzi purchased the account of another player, and then won a tournament using that account.. You can read the 2+2 thread of the most recent claims against him here. Anyway, the column talks about Mizzi trying to apologize for his past wrongs and his less-than stellar record in following the poker site’s terms of service. Mizzi has been killing it on the live circuit of late, which makes the timing of all the recent hubbub all the more interesting.

WPT London: The World Poker Tour event is down to the final eight players. Giovanni Safina of Italy is still your leader. Get updates here. According to this story, one of the players who is still in the mix can win part of a million-dollar bonus from Party Poker if he ships it. Good luck!

Is this interview ever going to end?: Part three of an interview with Jean-Robert Bellande below. We’re not sure we need to know this much about JRB, but we watched anyway!
