The man who had the best World Series of Poker in 2009, Jeff Lisandro, has signed with a management company. After winning three bracelets this year, he still didn’t have an agreement with an online site, but that will likely change after inking a deal with Check-Raise.
In case you didn’t already know, it’s good to be Phil Ivey. In a month, he’ll be playing in the WSOP main event — Las Vegas Sun story here In the meantime, he’s dishing out punishment at the high-stakes tables at Full Tilt Poker. In the first nine days of October, he’s up a cool $1.5 million.
Speaking of November Niners, there’s been a lot of gossip about Erich Buchman, which grew with his 2+2 post this week. During the WSOP, he was wearing FTP stuff, now he’s with PokerStars. Apparently a buddy of his started a thread — on his behalf — that said he was “Effed by Full Tilt.”
The identity of the first player in PokerStars’ Million Dollar Challenge is now known — and it’s a Catholic priest. No joke. Father Andrew Trapp will take on celebrities, pros and possibly Daniel Negreanu on Fox television this Sunday after NFL football. Negreanu blogged about the show here.
