Scale Mount Everest for a little more than a dollar, thanks to PokerStars? And ramping up for the WSOP. It’s all in today’s PTP Hit and Run.
Monday means it’s time to wrap up the Sunday majors. And Annette Oberstad took down one of them — the Sunday 500 — heading into her first World Series of Poker. Here’s a story about her, leading up to the WSOP. And “Kirbynator” stayed on a heater. After winning the main event of the latest FTOPS series, he just took down the $750K guaranteed.
Some more ramp up for the WSOP, going on, as the tournament series is days away. Daniel Negreanu is getting excited, and blogs a bit about his thoughts on the $50K Players Championship that is Event No. 2. Want to know where the best places to eat are while you’re in Vegas, if you’re playing in the WSOP? We have you covered. We’re not sure if the sedentary nature of most online poker players is conducive to scaling the world’s most challenging mountain. But it’s cool nonetheless.
The king of the high-stakes world at Full Tilt Poker of late? It’s unknown player “jungleman12.” Doesn’t have the buzz of Isildur1, but he’s slowly been killing it. He was the top player last week, and he’s No. 2, sandwiched between Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey, for 2010 with $2 million in profit.
The World Poker Tour stop in Barcelona is in the books. A guy with lots of letters in his last name, Ali Tekintamgac, won. Read more about it here.
The National Heads-Up Poker Championship on NBC has wrapped up its television run. You can read about it here, watch some of the semifinals below. Or head over to pokertube.com to watch the whole thing.
