ESPN’s coverage of the final table of the World Series of Poker’s main event has earned a nomination for a Sports Emmy Award. Read the release here. The nomination for “Outstanding Live Event Turnaround” was one of 54 for ESPN.

It was a bad day legally for online poker. First, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act will be enforced on June 1, unless legislation passes to nullify the law. Read here. There was also a setback in the case of possible internet gambling domain seizures in Kentucky. The supreme court there ruled that the parties bringing the case do not have standing, since they do not own any of the domains in question. PokerStars and Full Tilt are two of the 141 domains in question. Read about it here.
