A WSOP winner says online poker is rigged, a big day looms for online poker in the United States, and All Star Week at PokerStars. It’s all in today’s PTP Hit and Run.

Apparently, even WSOP bracelet winners can believe online poker is rigged. A 2008 World Series of Poker winner, Jared Young, believes it, according to this story. Here’s an excerpt from his blog (which you can read here): “I’m looking at the hand histories…because sometimes, I definitely play bad, and deserve to lose…but there is a theme here that cannot be questioned…getting it in with AK or AQ vs Ax and they hit x…every time…getting it in with top 2 against bottom 2, and they hit there bottom pair again?!?! it happened 9 times in the past 2 days…i just checked…Pair over pair forget it…now I have chalked up losing sessions and all that to variance in the past, but someone needs to explain to me how this is even possible. I really believe there are “hot” IP addresses and maybe you will call me crazy, but if you do, I will look u dead in the face, and tell you to FCK OFF.” The best part is all the comments agreeing with him. You can also lol at him in this 2+2 thread.

Tomorrow is a big day for online poker in the United States. Well, probably. Story here talks about the planned mark up of a bill in the House Financial Services Committee. The bill would regulate and legalize online poker. The mark up of the bill might get held over to another day, however, we won’t know until tomorrow. When the bill gets marked up, it might get amended to change what it says, and some are worrying that the bill could get changes that might freeze out current operators like PokerStars and Full Tilt. We will have more tomorrow, if something happens.

With months until the November Nine sits down to play out the final table of the WSOP main event, it gives us endless possibilities to analyze what’s going to happen. Like, how do chip leaders do, historically? Four final table chip leaders have gone on to win since 2000 — read more here. And pokernews.com put together some unofficial awards for the summer at the WSOP.

We’ve got a new weekly feature, called “The Week Ahead in Poker.” It takes a look ahead at what’s going on in the pokerverse, including online, live, on TV, etc. This week, the big news is the start of coverage of the World Series of Poker on ESPN. Check it out here. For a preview of Tuesday’s coverage of the $50K Players Championship, watch below:

Also going on this week is All Star Week at PokerStars, where Team PS pros take on some of the site’s top players in heads-up matches. Get the whole schedule here;

Daniel Negreanu has been trying to play in the nosebleed cash games in PokerStars (read our review here; other poker site reviews) this year. It’s been quite the roller coaster rider for Kid Poker — read about some of this ups and downs here.

In online tournaments, it was a big Sunday as the poker sites got back into full swing as the Vegas action dies down. Read about what happened in the Sunday majors here.

It was a bad week for not-legal poker in the United States. First, police raided an underground game in Cincinnati, and a million dollars was seized in the process. And in Virginia, authorities are looking at cracking down on some poker rooms that have popped up in Portsmouth, even though they are apparently against the law.
