PS and FTP “illegal”?: Poker behemoths PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker are “operating illegally,” if you believe Bwin CEO Norbert Teufelberger, who said as much in an interview. Here’s some of what he said (on why they are the biggest online poker rooms): “It’s not because they have premier marketing skills or premier technology, what they have is hundreds of millions of dollars from what we see as an illegal market. We would expect that once the US regulates, these two companies will not have access to the market, and once that happens we’ll then see who the leader will be. They say they’re not operating illegally but I think they are.”

Legends of Poker: The World Poker Tour event at the Bicycle in L.A. is set to start tomorrow. Read more about the tournament here. It’s a $5K event that runs through Wednesday.
The lowdown from the PPA: The Poker Players Alliance, a lobbying group in the United States, issued its monthly newsletter, which you can check out here. Not much new…it talks about H.R. 2267, the bill that would regulate and legalize online poker in the United States. It kind of oversells what’s happened, seeing as it has only gotten through a committee vote. But they’re understandably excited.
