Ivey takes a hit in cash games. And a look ahead at the week in poker, including some WSOP and WPT news. It’s all in today’s PTP Hit and Run.
Ivey down: Phil Ivey and Tom “durrrr” Dwan had been killing it at Full Tilt’s high-stakes cash games earlier in the month. Now? Not so much. Read about Ivey’s $700K loss here.
The week ahead: Want to get yourself ready for what the world of poker has in store this week? Check out our weekly lookahead here. ESPN coverage of the World Series of Poker main event, the end of a World Poker Tour event, and the UB Online Championships are just part of what’s on tap.
WSOP on ESPN: Part of the week ahead is ESPN’s coverage of the WSOP main event, where they’re up to day two. You can watch a preview of the action here:
What’s the deal, WPT?:The World Poker Tour is auditioning people to host a new segment during WPT broadcasts called “The Raw Deal.” Short story and an interview with WPT Executive Producer Joe Grimm here. Apparently the segment will consist of “edgy” opinions about the players. We’re not sure if this cool, or lame, guess we’ll have to wait to find out. And for more on the WPT’s new season with Kimberly Lansing, watch the latest episode of “Under the Gun” from BLUFF:
Sunday majors: It’s Monday. That means a lot of people played poker yesterday. Here’s a look at what happened in the big Sunday online poker tournaments.
The flying Mizrachi brothers: OK, they don’t actually fly, that we know of. But they are good at poker. Anyway, there’s a Mizrachi still left in the Full Tilt event in Cyprus, and it’s not Michael, or Robert. It’s Eric. Interview below:
Rewind: Catch up with some of the best poker-related videos of the week in this week’s edition of Rewind. Jean-Robert Bellande and Eric Baldwin are featured, and a November Niner doing cannonballs. Good times.
