Againstime analyzes a wide variety of shoving situations surrounding bubble and heads-up play in 9-max SNGs using SNG Wizard. He discusses in detail how one’s shoving range is affected by position, effective stack sizes, calling ranges, necessary edge, and tournament prize structure.
While these factors certainly influence critical all-in or fold decisions in accordance with the independent chip model, Againstime also emphasizes the importance of several other variables, such as the proximity of the blinds, remaining time until the blinds go up, and the possibility of conserving one’s equity in the tournament with the prospect of better future situations.
