Poker has grown to the point where there’s enough of an information ecosystem to support news sites that have a fairly tight focus. One such site that’s been popping up a good amount in forum discussions lately is PokerKing, a site that offers up regular updates and editorializing on the various goings-on in the pokerverse. This review covers both the Poker King main site and the Poker King blog.

Overview
Poker King is a poker blog that focuses mainly on poker news, with a general lean toward online poker happenings. The site is divided into two core sites - Poker King and Poker King Blog. The main difference seems to be that articles on the Poker King Blog are slightly more editorial in nature.

Look
A clean, if familiar, design that gives you quick access to all of the recent content right up front. There are a few ads, but nothing obtrusive.

Content Quantity / Quality

A solid site that is quick to major stories and does a good job of combing the big online poker forums to break slightly smaller stories. The writing is casual in tone but still articulate and concise, making most articles easy reads. The site updates several times a week.

Unique Pros / Cons
The focus on online poker stories that are often neglected by the larger poker news sites makes this a worthwhile stop in your daily browsing.

Bottom Line

A good resource that’s worth your time if you’re interested in the slightly more obscure side of online poker news.
