Review of The Poker DB .com

The pokerdb is, first and foremost, a great idea executed with skill. It contains the results of just about every MTT on Stars from the last several years (along with more, see below), and cross-references that information by player. Essentially, you can see how well everyone has done in Stars MTT’s since early 2004. It’s useful for research, bragging rights, and plain ol’ killing time. While the core focus used to be Stars, pokerdb now covers:
PokerStars: 2/2/2004-current
Full Tilt Poker: 6/4/2006-current
Ultimate Bet: 7/3/2006-current
Bodog: 11/2/2006-current
Absolute Poker: 1/1/2007-current
Look
The pokerdb used to be a nice, clean, good-looking site. The move to Bluff meant the addition of more ads on all sides. The navigation is still fairly intuitive.
Content Quantity / Quality
My own records were accurate, and the general word is that the database is pretty comprehensive. You cannot be removed from the DB even if you request it, so an empty search actually does indicate an opponent with no results to report.
Note that the pokerdb only tracks when a player cashes in a tournament - it doesn’t provide any information about how many tournaments a given player has bought in to overall, nor does it provide a cumulative profit report - only a report of total winnings. Additional statistics are only available to subscribers ($12 for 1 month, $30 for 3, $100 for 12).
Unique Pros / Cons
The recent move to Bluff Magazine brought with it a host of upgrades to the pokerdb, including buddy lists, in-depth stats, reports on the Sunday majors, and some additional features. Most are available only to subscribers.
Bottom Line
If you play MTT’s at any major sites, this should be at the top of your bookmark list.
