The March 2015 Gaming Revenue Results were released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
Atlantic City continued its downward trend as Revel and The Showboat remained darkened. In a recent move in April, Glen Straub and his Polo North Country completed the $82 million deal for Revel.
In addition, Straub’s Company offered Stockton University $26 million to take over The Showboat because of a covenant that the property must be used as a casino. However, Trump Entertainment, the holder of the covenant “vows to block it.”
Total Gaming Win from the Casino Hotels was $203.9 million in March 2015 compared to $233.4 million March 2014 (including Discontinued Operators – Atlantic Club, Showboat, Revel, and Trump Plaza) reflecting a 12.6% decrease.
For the month, Casino Win was $190.7 million, and Internet Gaming Win was $13.2 million. Internet Gaming in March 2014 was $11.9 million (including Discontinued – Ultimate Gaming).

The Tropicana, with only casino games continued in second place for the month with a 23.1% revenue share, retaking the lead as the #1 casino games site in March.
Caesar’s Interactive (CIE) dropped to fourth place with 21.4% (Second in poker, fourth in casino games).
Golden Nugget/BetFair combination secured a revenue share of 22.5%, bouncing back to third place in total, and in casino games. RESORTS online casino, began to generate revenues for the full month and contributed 1.2% of overall online revenue while still awaiting any movement by the NJDGE to approve Poker Stars.
The Online Poker Numbers showed Party and Borgata increased its edge over Caesar’s/888 for the month 55.2% to 44.8%.
The Month to Month comparison of Internet Gaming Figures – Online Poker March 2015 $2.27 million versus March 2014’s $3.21 million, a substantial DECREASE of 29.3%. Online Casino numbers fared better. March 2015 $10.9 million versus $8.7 million in March 2014, a 20.5% INCREASE.
Granted, the initial awareness was for online poker versus casino games, and during March 2014 Ultimate’s (now gone) online poker client was still in existence. Total Casino and Poker revenue for 2014 and 2015 month to month was $13.2 million versus $11.9 million, an increase of 9.8%.
As an interesting note, YTD Online Gaming figures show The Borgata DOWN 4.5%, and Caesar’s Interactive DOWN 24.2% year to year. The Tropicana, Golden Nugget/Betfair, and now Resorts have secured a larger market share.
Atlantic City Brick and Mortar Poker revenues were $2.27 million in March, an increase over February of $610K.

The second half of April should create an uptick in poker playing in the State. The Borgata is hosting its Brick & Mortar Spring Poker Open starting today, April 14th through May 1st. In conjunction with this, the Party/Borgata NJCOP II will be running online from April 16th – April 26th.
WSOP/888 will also be running two series’, the Spring Poker Series that began on April 12th until April 19th, and the NJ Turnpike Series April 19th-26th. Good Luck to all participants.
