Daniel Negreanu gives himself some breathing room against Erik Seidel’s pursuit of the all-time tournament money lead. 888poker announces three new poker festivals. Check out these stories and more in Thursday Hit and Run.
Negreanu Adds to All Time Money List Lead
Over the last couple years, Erik Seidel has been gradually catching up to Daniel Negreanu for the all-time tournament money list. But thanks to some recent solid high-roller finishes by Negreanu, Seidel will have a bit more catching up to do. A second place showing in the $25k Mixed Game High Roller at the Bellagio added another $175k to Negreanu’s lifetime winnings, sending him past the $33 million mark. A second event was held the following day, where Negreanu also finished as runner up, padding another $77,599 to his total.

With Negreanu’s hot streak this week, Seidel is now $1.45 million behind Kid Poker. But despite Negreanu’s strong showings, Seidel has surged over the last two years, winning $10.2 million to Negreanu’s $2.7 million. There will undoubtedly be more opportunities for Seidel to gain ground throughout 2017. And don’t count out Daniel Colman and Antonio Esfandiari, who are also within striking distance.
