If you like big online poker tournaments, this Sunday and the next week should be enjoyable if you play at Full Tilt Poker or PokerStars.
The second week of the Spring Championship of Poker starts today, part of the tournament series at PokerStars with $45 million in guaranteed prize money. With buyins from very small to very large, and all sorts of poker variants, there’s a little bit of everything in SCOOP.
For instance, a two-day no-limit hold’em event that begins today has three different buy-in levels: high, medium, and low. You can get into an event for $22, $215 or $2,100.
At Full Tilt, the smaller version of the FTOPS tournament series, called miniFTOPS, is getting into full swing. With buy-ins 1/10th of the size of the bigger tournament series, miniFTOPS is affordable for just about any level poker player. And with $7 million in guaranteed prize money over the course of 30 events, it represents great value for an online poker player.
There are three events today, which range in buy-in from $13 to $55. Next Sunday, there’s the $75 main event, which will have a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million.
