The Full Tilt Poker sale moves forward, PokerStars releases a new TV ad, and the European Poker Tour is in action in France. It’s all in today’s edition of the PTP Hit and Run.
Full Tilt deal: The deal to sell Full Tilt Poker to Groupe Bernard Tapie reportedly took a step forward, as Full Tilt and the U.S. Department of Justice apparently have come to an agreement where Full Tilt forfeits its assets to the DOJ. If that has happened, that clears the way for GBT to purchase Full Tilt from the DOJ. We’ll have more as it happens.
EPT Deauville under way: The European Poker Tour is back, with the Deauville, France, stop. You can read a preview of the event here, and you can get live updates from PokerStars’ blog here. James “Flushy” Dempsey is one of the players who is still alive, while Jonathan Duhamel’s hot start to 2012 cooled off when he hit the rail on day one.
A look at Deauville:

New PokerStars ad: PokerStars is continuing its “We Are Poker” campaign with a new television spot that you can watch below. It’s a little less weird than the first two. But still a little weird/cool. Team PokerStars Pros Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Sandra Naujoks, Sebastian Ruthenburg and Liv Boeree are all featured.
Caesars, 888 ready for U.S. market: 888 Holdings and Caesars Interactive Entertainment announced that they are extending their licensing deal to the United States, meaning they will be ready to go in the United States market whenever state or federal regulation of online poker is passed. More here. Just another sign that at least some people are optimistic about the future of online poker in the U.S.
Online poker lobby is effective?: Lobbying efforts for online poker in the United States have been highlighted in a recent story at PCWorld. The Poker Players Alliance has done its best to stem the tide in the United States, but until online poker regulation happens, we’re not sure it’s in the class of some of the other examples of web activism that are noted in the article.
