More on Collude-Gate. Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins skips workouts to play poker? Mike Shariati wins the WPT POY award after Cate Hall eliminated in SHRPO Main Event. And more.

Shariati edges out Hall for WPT POY

With the elimination of Cate Hall in 9th place of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Main Event, Mike Shariati has officially locked up the Season 14 WPT Player of the Year award.

Shariati’s POY campaign was due in large part to his WPT Legends of Poker victory last September, and a recent runner-up finish in the WPT LA Poker Classic Main Event.

Shariati may be the WPT Player of the Year, but it was Hall who burst onto the scene, landing at two official WPT final tables (she finished 5th both times), and cashing in three other Main Events, plus her unofficial 9th place exit at the SHRPO.
