The previews for this episode following the end of Episode 6 promised a history-making clash between Greenstein and Dwan, and this episode delivers. While it won’t go down as one of the more interesting or controversial hands in poker history, it will go down as the largest cash-game pot ever played on television, as over 900k gets shoved into the middle in a heads up pot.
Other highlights from a pretty solid episode: A.J. describes Dwan as ’straightedge’ (someone call Ian MacKaye!), Negreanu continues his slide, Eastage gets pushed around some more and finally pushes back, Benyamine wakes up, Doyle continues to snooze and Zigmund sets a HSP personal record by speaking over a dozen words.
This episode marks the last one for the season with the current lineup, which is a shame. Laak will be back, which is always good for a couple of laughs, Sam Simon should provide some fishiness that will be interesting (although he might also kill the game as the pros lay off each other and zero in on him), but the battle between Dwan and everybody else was becoming really interesting to watch.
