No show captures the reality of poker like High Stakes Poker. Sure, the show isn’t realistic in terms of pot sizes, but it does a great job of representing the interesting emotional and intellectual dynamics of the game.
In episode 11, we’re introduced to a (sort of) new lineup that includes Eli Elezra (who does a mean Tom Dwan impersonation), Tom Dwan, Mike Baxter, Phil Laak, Doyle Brunson, Dario Minieri, Alan Metzler and David Peat. There’s some big pots and a few funny lines (plus Doyle wakes up and plays a couple pots!), more than enough to make for a quality episode.
