Eric Buchman: WSOP Run Ends With 4th Place Exit

Poker pro Eric Buchman saw his amazing run in the 2009 World Series of Poker end a bit earlier than he presumably would’ve liked. The New York-based poker player left the final table in 4th place.
Buchman’s exit came after a hand where he lost a massive pot to Saout (AQ vs AK) to be super-short. He survived a couple of all ins and then the following hand came up:
Moon opened for 3m and Eric shipped over the top. Moon calls.

Flop:
Good sweat for Moon.
Buchman has 3 cards in the deck to win or he’s done.
Buchman is out in 4th
Many thought smart money was on Buchman to win the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event. Buchman entered play with 34,800,000 in chips and boasted a resume that contained far more tournament experience than many of his final table colleagues, including a six-figure score at a WSOP-C event. Only Ivey and Shulman could compete with Buchman’s experience to date. Bodog had Buchman listed at 3/1 against to win the Main Event.
The Main Event was Buchman’s second final table at the 2009 WSOP; he also took 6th in Omaha/Seven Card Stud HL/8 or Better (Event 25).
Buchman signed a sponsorship deal with Full Tilt Poker for the WSOP; given his success, you’re likely to see him repping FTP at other major events throughout the upcoming year.
For his trouble, Buchman will be taking home $2,502,890.
