A proposed alternate title for the Durrrr Challenge: ‘8 Months, Almost 1 Million’. That’s roughly where things stand after the latest session in the intermittent battle between Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius.

The most recent session saw the two slug it out at the 200/400 PLO tables on Full Tilt Poker for just under 500 hands. This session brought the total number of sessions played to 42, and the total number of hands played to 27,185 of 50,000.

Last night’s session saw Patrik mount a decent comeback over 470 hands and walk away with a win of $167,620.50. The two engaged in multiple six-figure pots, with Dwan snagging the largest at $293,742.50, but despite that take down, Antonius simply came out on the winning side of more monster all ins than Dwan.

Despite the temporary setback, Dwan has managed to open up a reasonably substantial lead on Antonius at $779,248.00 – although it is tough to have a ’safe’ lead when playing 200/400 PLO across multiple tables.

With the major tournament season winding down for a bit, there’s some reason to believe the pace of the challenge might pick up. Then again, Dwan is still trying to put together the live version of the Durrrr Challenge, an event that was supposed to go off in London back in September but has now been shifted to a winter date and rumored to be heading for Las Vegas.

Opponents for that match have yet to be confirmed.
