Created by the company that brought you DraftSheet (which was purchased by DraftKings), comes DRAFT, a site that provides players with a different take on daily fantasy sports. DRAFT — also known as DRAFT, PlayDraft — is one of the newer DFS sites to emerge over the last couple years. Offering a unique brand of daily fantasy sports for a variety of different type of DFS fans, DRAFT ultimately provides players with a simpler platform and a change of pace over larger DFS sites.
There are no salary caps in DRAFT’s contests, instead opting for live snake drafts and “DreamTeam” contests which allow you to draft any play you want.
While the site doesn’t enjoy the traffic that DraftKings or FanDuel has, it is a site with management that know DFS and hopes to carve out a niche. Players will find mobile app appealing, with some of the best reviews of any DFS app.
New players can try out DRAFT with a free $3 contest entry on a deposit of $10 or more.
DRAFT is available in Canada and to 40 states except the following where games are not allowed per DRAFT’s interpretation of state laws: Alabama, Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nevada and Washington.
DRAFT Games and Sports
As a smaller DFS site, DRAFT primarily sticks to the basics as far as sport availability — NFL, NBA, NHL, Golf and MLB. This selection will cover the needs of most DFS players, but could be a deal breaker for those that like to play more obscure daily fantasy sports or a huge volume of contests in other sports (and there is nothing stopping a DFS fan from playing at multiple sites).
DRAFT’s standard DFS contests are free of a salary caps but instead allow you to draft players in real time against your opponents. Alternatively, you can submit a pre-ranking list, which will require that you are not necessarily there for the entire draft.
Lineup construction is made simple by design, with five rosters spots available for each sport:
NFL: 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 2 wide receivers or tight ends
NBA: 2 guards, 2 forwards, 1 center
NHL: 1 guard, 1 defensemen, 3 forwards
MLB: 2 pitchers, 3 hitters
Standard DFS contests are available in a selection of contests including a guaranteed prize format, leagues (3, 6 and 10 are the most common) as well as head to head contests. The largest guaranteed contests are typically in the four to five figure range.
While the selection of sports is not as great as some DFS sites, they do offer some impressive variety in their contests, notably with so-called “Dream Team Contests.”
Dream Team Contests – With Dream Team contests you are able to select your roster immediately. There are a couple big differences with these contests. There is no “draft,” no salary cap (unlike traditional DFS contests), and you select players that are on other rosters (like traditional DFS contests but unlike standard DRAFT contests).
Within each of these two main contests types are also “Beginner Games,” which are $1 contests that are only available to new players — those that have entered less than 20 drafts in one sport or 50 overall.
New Player DRAFT Bonus
New DRAFT players are eligible to take advantage of a Free Contest offer worth $3. To qualify, you will need to make a first deposit to receive the free ticket.
You will have plenty of time to redeem the offer. Enter a contest using the ticket within a 90 day period after the ticket has been claimed.
Eligible contests will be visible with a ticket icon in the lobby.
The PlayDraft interface has some similarities to other DFS sites with some couple notable exceptions. Despite the differences, you should be able to
By default, contests in the lobby are displayed by “Featured” events, which highlight some of the most important events, usually with the largest prize pools.
Access any of the available sports by clicking one of the appropriate tabs. You will be able to view the type of draft, number of entrants, entry fee, prizes and draft time. You will also be able to conveniently set your pre-draft rankings for easy live drafting.
Surprisingly, there is no easy way to sort or filter contests in the lobby, but slate times are organized by start times.
Unlike most DFS sites, there is no salary cap in DRAFT contests. For DRAFT’s standard contests, instead of joining a contest and selecting your lineup, you will participate in a live draft which takes between 5 to 10 minutes once the draft begins. Alternatively, you can use pre-rankings if you don’t wish to participate in the live draft.
After clicking on a contest in the lobby, you will get a confirmation information about the contest — draft type, roster, the start of the draft, the contests, start, the amount of time you will have to act for each pick as well as the prize.
If participating in a live draft, we recommend turning on notifications so you are aware of your pick when it comes up. DRAFT players will be given 30 seconds to make each pick.
The draft order is listed on the left of the page, while the roster is on the right hand side. Select your players from the center when it is your turn. Remember: there is no salary cap and you are not able to switch players on your roster. Draft wisely.

To monitor your team on the day of the game, go to “Live” or “Results” for finished contests.
DRAFT on Mobile
Like any decent DFS site, the DRAFT platform is also available on mobile. In fact, the DRAFT mobile app has earned five star rating on iOS and 4 1/2 stars on Android, making the DRAFT app one of the highest rated anywhere among DFS sites.
The app shines for its ease of use and simple mobile interface.
DRAFT Deposits and Withdrawals
DRAFT players are given a small selection but widely available choice of payment processing options.
To deposit, a player can deposit using Paypal or credit card. When depositing through, Paypal you will be able to use your Paypal balance, your bank or any of the credit cards you have on file. Deposits are limited to a $10 minimum or a $5,000 maximum. You may contact customer support to adjust your maximum levels.
Withdrawals are free of fees and can be done via Paypal or check. DRAFT notes that most players are paid within 48 hours to Paypal while checks can take up to a couple weeks when considering for processing and transit time. PlayDraft players are limited to five withdrawals per month. Any withdrawals over this number are subject to fees of $5 per month.
We recommend deposit and withdrawing through PayPal as this options provides the easiest experience to most DFS players.
