Traffic

Carbon Poker is a mid-tier room, typically ranking as the 10th most active poker room. The lobby is very busy at most times of the day for small and mid-stakes no limit holdem, with periodic higher stakes games. Carbon is the largest room to accept players from the US.

The tournament lobby has an steady offering of multi-table tournaments. The sit and go lobby activity is growing.

Aesthetics

I like the table design – it’s clean and looks modern. The action buttons are pretty standard. The lobby is laid out in a familiar way, and you have plenty of sorting options. The one issue I have with the look of the games is that when you resize tables to be smaller, stack sizes become difficult to read.

Deposit and Cashout

Carbon offers a fairly standard array of deposit and cash out options, including credit card, moneybookers, Neteller, Click2Pay, Money Transfer, Credit Card, and EcoCard. The turnaround time for physical check cashout is very quick at this room.

Support

Carbon support is generally effective and offers email and live chat support options. Turnaround time for support requests is above average. Immediately following Black Friday support times were below average, however Carbon has since improved their support significantly.

Free Training

Carbon Poker offers free training via the popular training site, Drag The Bar. If you generate $1 in rake in your first month of play at Carbon you will be eligible for the remainder of the calendar month, free, at DTB. After the first calendar month you will need to maintain $500 in rake per month to keep your membership. With games as tough as they are online today it’s important to plan for some study time on a site like Drag The Bar.

Unique Pros / Cons

Carbon offers some unique software features – like rabbit hunting and deal it twice – that you won’t find at other rooms. Custom tournaments are easy to set up on Carbon.

Carbon is very aggressive about recruiting and holding on to players with promotions. We review many promotional offerings at Merge Network rooms and consistently find that Carbon offers the most value for players. Follow the link below to learn about the current offerings.
