Cake Poker Review
Cake Poker is a medium-sized poker room that has been around for a few years. Recently the site has seen steady growth, fueled by the addition of a few key partner rooms. It is best known for its soft play, and gold card promotion. As of February 2009, it is experiencing the highest traffic it has seen to date, and overlays are becoming less and less frequent.

Traffic
Cake Poker has decent traffic through all hours of the night, whether it’s for Cash games or SNGs, You can usually find a NLNE table up to $5/10, and PL Omaha tables up to $1/2. The site doesn’t have significant action at games other than holdem and omaha. SNG games will fill up to the $26 level regularly, and during peak hours $100 sngs will fill at a respectable rate. MTTs during peak hours will see 100-200 registered players, but during late night hours they play more like 45 man SNGs on pokerstars.
Aesthetics
Cake poker has a unique charm that makes the site playable despite the software severely lacking. It takes the lobby up to 5 minutes to refresh and tables are known to flicker and freeze. Luckily Cake support is player friendly and will give refunds for disconnects in most cases.
Deposit and Cashout
Cake offers a plethora of options for depositing and withdrawal, including credit/debit, Neteller, epassporte, and money bookers.
Support
Support at Cake is friendly and efficient. During peak hours they will respond to emails in less than 30 minutes and will resolve issues to the customer’s satisfaction. They are a small site, so pampering to customers is a must, and they do it well.
Unique Pros / Cons
Cake poker offers a very unique Gold card promotion that plays out a lot like McDonalds monopoly promotion. The site is also extremely soft. It does lack in variety, as Stud and any of its variants are all but non existent, though they could be added later. The freeze out guaranteed MTTs offer decent overlay and are a must play for anyone on Cake.
Despite the software problems, Cake poker has its own unique charm and some of the softest play around. They offer a higher rakeback than most other rooms, and games fill up in a timely fashion.
